Rock crystal with tourmaline – chips 2–8 mm (XXXS)
Tiny chips from rock crystal with tourmaline catch the eye with a beautiful contrast of clear to milky tones of rock crystal and dark streaks of black tourmaline. They are ideal especially for creative crafting and filling – they look beautiful in orgonites, resin, candles, small bottles, bowls, decorations and mosaics. Thanks to their miniature size, they are also perfect for filling the space around larger stones, in decorative vases or as a bed beneath crystals.
Rock crystal with tourmaline ("tourmalinated quartz") is a natural intergrowth of clear quartz (SiO₂) with tourmaline crystals – most often black schorl. Tourmaline forms characteristic needle-like, columnar or fibrous inclusions enclosed in the crystal structure in the rock crystal. It forms in pegmatitic and hydrothermal environments. In ancient China it was revered as "the stone of opposites – yin and yang", the harmony of body and spirit.
