In our category you will find a wide selection of unakite bracelets – from delicate 4 mm models through medium 6 mm to striking 8 mm. We also offer faceted (cut) designs and tumbled chips. Unakite is a universal unisex stone, suitable for women and men, and thanks to its gentle color combination of green and pink , it is especially popular among women looking for a gentle esoteric piece with heart energy.

Unakite – what exactly is this rock?

Unakite is not a single mineral but a rock (an altered granite) made up of three main minerals:

  • Pink orthoclase (feldspar) – gives unakite its characteristic soft pink to salmon color
  • Green epidote – responsible for the deep green component
  • Quartz – forms the white to grey parts of the pattern

It forms through hydrothermal alteration of granite – hot, mineral-rich fluids permeate the original granite and gradually transform some of its minerals into epidote. The result is a multicolored rock with a characteristic "marble-like" pattern, in which every piece is completely unique.

The name from the American Appalachians

Unakite has a beautiful American origin – it is named after the Unaka Mountains (Unaka Range), which lie on the border between North Carolina and Tennessee in the southern Appalachians. The rock was first described in 1874 by the American geologist Frank H. Bradley, who found it in these mountains. The name "Unaka" is said to come from the language of the Cherokee and to mean "white" – often linked to the characteristic misty haze that frequently appears in these mountains. The main localities of unakite today are:

  • USA – the original locality in the Appalachians (North Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia)
  • South Africa – a major commercial source
  • Brazil, China, Sierra Leone – other significant localities

Unakite – "the stone of pregnant women and heart harmony"

In esoteric tradition, unakite is one of the most important stones for women, especially for mothers-to-be. Tradition credits it with:

  • The traditional "stone of pregnant women" – protection of mother and child during pregnancy
  • Support for the female reproductive system – harmonization (according to tradition)
  • Opening the heart chakra – love, compassion, harmony
  • Support for emotional healing – "the healers' stone"
  • Help in overcoming emotional blocks
  • Opening the third eye – "the Stone of Vision"
  • Support for personal growth and transformation
  • Strengthening intuition and inner wisdom
  • The traditional "heart stone of the Earth" – connection with the Earth's energy

In esoteric tradition, unakite is associated with two chakras:

  • Heart chakra (4th, Anahata) – the green of epidote and the pink of orthoclase (classic heart colors)
  • Third eye chakra (6th, Ajna) – thanks to its tradition as "the Stone of Vision"

What makes unakite "the Stone of Vision"?+

The name "Stone of Vision" refers to unakite's traditional ability to open the third eye and strengthen intuition. Esoteric tradition holds that unakite helps you see hidden connections, reveals the truth and supports inner wisdom. It is also traditionally described as a stone that helps you rediscover what was lost in the past – legend says that a person wearing unakite will one day find what they wrongly lost in the past. It works on the third eye chakra (6th, Ajna). This property makes unakite a popular stone for meditators, clairvoyants, diviners and all who seek deeper insight into themselves. Combined with amethyst or lapis lazuli, it strengthens meditative properties.

Why does every unakite bracelet have a different pattern?+

Unakite is a natural rock – every stone has a unique pattern that you will find nowhere else. Its characteristic pattern arises from the random distribution of three minerals: green epidote, pink orthoclase and white quartz. No two stones have an identical pattern – some beads are more strongly green, others more pink, and in some white predominates. The intensity of the colors varies from piece to piece. When you order, you will receive a carefully selected bracelet from our range – the photo in the e-shop serves as a guide, and your specific piece may differ slightly. This uniqueness is the main beauty of natural stones – every unakite is an original.

Which zodiac signs is unakite suitable for?+

Unakite is traditionally associated especially with the signs Scorpio, Libra and Capricorn. Scorpio (23 Oct – 21 Nov) – unakite strengthens its natural transformative energy and helps with emotional healing. Libra (23 Sep – 22 Oct) – the combination of green epidote and pink orthoclase symbolizes Libra's desire for harmony and balance. Capricorn (22 Dec – 19 Jan) – unakite supports Capricorn's determination and personal growth. As a universal "stone of pregnant women, heart harmony and personal growth" , however, unakite suits everyone, regardless of sign– especially sensitive personalities, mothers-to-be and those seeking personal growth.

How should a unakite bracelet be worn?+

You wear a unakite bracelet on your wrist like any other esoteric bracelet – tradition distinguishes between the right and left wrist according to purpose. The left wrist (receptive) is recommended by tradition for receiving energy and emotional healing – ideal for mothers-to-be, women seeking harmony and sensitive personalities. The right wrist (projective) is for radiating heart energy outwards – ideal when meeting people you want to give love to. For left-handed people, this division is reversed. For pregnant women , tradition recommends wearing unakite on the left wrist (closer to the heart) or as a pendant at the level of the heart chakra. It combines beautifully with moonstone (the women's stone), rose quartz (gentle love) or carnelian (vitality).

Which sizes of unakite bracelets do you offer?+

In our range you will find unakite bracelets in three main bead sizes and in various designs. 4 mm – delicate small beads, suitable for everyday wear and combining with other bracelets. 6 mm – a medium size, the ideal universal choice. 8 mm – more striking beads with a more visible pattern (green, pink and white parts). Besides round beads, we also offer faceted (cut) bracelets with a characteristic sparkle and tumbled chip bracelets made of irregular natural fragments. All bracelets are on elastic jewelry cord and have a universal size of about 18 cm in circumference. Each piece is an original – the pattern varies slightly.

How should I care for a unakite bracelet?+

Unakite is a moderately hard rock (Mohs 6–7), but the bracelet needs attention because of its elastic cord. Cleaning: wipe gently with a soft, slightly damp cloth. DO NOT IMMERSE it in water – the elastic cord could be damaged. BEWARE of knocks: the rock can be scratched; take it off for sport, cleaning and manual work. Before showering, the sauna and swimming, always take it off. Charging: ideally moonlight or soft morning sun (never long midday sun – it could affect the pink color of the orthoclase). Energy cleansing: traditionally by smudging with sage or on a selenite plate. Protect it from household chemicals, perfumes and creams. Store it in a soft pouch or jewelry box. With proper care, the bracelet will last you many years.
