Amethyst Pendulums – Tools of Intuition, Calm and Spiritual Protection
Amethyst pendulum – a tool for divination and spiritual work
An amethyst pendulum is a classic esoteric tool for divination, meditation and energy work. In our range you will find pendulums in various shapes and designs – from simple cut points through elegant pyramids and Merkaba (double-pyramid) shapes to pendulums with decorative symbols or chains with other minerals. Thanks to the high durability of the stone (hardness 7 Mohs) , amethyst pendulums are ideal for everyday pendulum work and are among the most popular "first pendulums" for beginners as well as specialized tools for advanced practitioners.

A pendulum is a traditional aid that responds to subtle micro-movements of the hand and a person's energy field. Its movements (circling, swinging) answer the questions asked – most often of the YES / NOtype. A pendulum can also be used for assessing the energy of the body or a space, in meditation, chakra work or as support in decision-making. It serves as a "bridge" between the conscious mind and intuition. Each pendulum is a unique original with its own structure and shade.
For comprehensive information about amethyst as a stone (scientific description, chemical composition, localities, history, the Greek legend of Bacchus, "the stone of sobriety", esoteric traditions, zodiac signs, chakras), visit the amethystcategory. Here we focus purely on the pendulum as a tool.

- For more detailed answers than just YES/NO
How to use a pendulum correctly
Before first use – activation in 4 steps
- Cleanse the pendulum – briefly under cold water or by smudging with sage (• salt is not recommended – it can leave residues and damage the metal parts)
- Charge the pendulum – • BEWARE of the sun! Prefer full-moon light or brief morning sun (max 30 minutes)
- "Program" the pendulum – hold it in your palm and state your intention: "This pendulum will serve for divination and my highest good"
- Calibrate its movements – ask "Show me YES", "Show me NO", "Show me I DON'T KNOW" and note the movements (usually: vertical = YES, horizontal = NO, circular = I DON'T KNOW)
During use
- Hold the pendulum by the chain or cord, not by the stone
- The stone should hang freely about 10–15 cm below your fingers
- Let it hang freely, point down
- Breathe calmly, relax and clear your mind
- Phrase your questions clearly and unambiguously (one question at a time!)
- Let the movement develop naturally
- Do not influence the movement consciously
- Record the answers (a pendulum practice journal)
After use
- Thank the pendulum
- Store it in a soft pouch out of direct sunlight
- Cleanse it energetically once a week (smudging, a selenite plate)
• When NOT to use a pendulum
- For health diagnosis – a pendulum NEVER replaces a doctor
- Under the influence of alcohol, drugs or strong medication – the results are distorted
- In strong emotions – emotions affect the result
- For questions about other people's private lives without their knowledge – an ethical problem
- For questions about the death of others – an ethical problem
- For important life decisions without rational reflection – a pendulum is a supplement, not a substitute

Caring for an amethyst pendulum
- Hardness 7 Mohs – amethyst is very durable; ideal for everyday pendulum work
- Cleaning the stone: wipe gently with a soft, slightly damp cloth; brief contact with lukewarm water is fine
- • AMETHYST FADES IN THE SUN! – UV light gradually damages its violet color. Protect it from prolonged direct sunlight – both when wearing it and when storing it
- Store it out of direct sunlight – in a soft pouch in a drawer, not on a windowsill
- Charging: ideally full-moon light all night; brief morning sun (max 30 minutes once a month) is also possible
- Energy cleansing (once a week): smudging with sage or palo santo, or on an amethyst cluster / selenite plate
- • Salt is not recommended – it can leave residues and damage the chain and metal parts
- Check the chain/cord – wear can lead to the pendulum falling; check the attachment regularly
- Protect it from knocks – a fall onto a hard surface can damage the point or cause a crack
- Protect it from: household chemicals, perfumes, hairspray, alcohol
- Storing with other stones: only with harder or equally hard stones (rock crystal, sapphire, Herkimer); not with softer ones (calcite, fluorite, opal, amber), which it could scratch

For beginners we recommend the classic conical pendulum – the traditional shape with clear, readable movements. For advanced practitioners, faceted (elegant) or Merkaba (advanced esoteric work). For collectors, natural crystal or wire-wrapped. Yes, ideally – it is one of the classic "first pendulums". We recommend the classic conical pendulum as the first choice – easy movements, clear calibration, universal use for divination and chakra work. Activate the pendulum in 4 steps: cleansing -> charging -> programming -> calibrating the movements (Show me YES, NO, I DON'T KNOW). Hold it by the chain, not by the stone. Phrase your questions clearly and unambiguously (one question at a time) and let the movement develop naturally. The ideal chain length is 15–20 cm – the pendulum should hang freely about 10–15 cm below your fingers. A longer chain = larger swings (suitable for chakra work), a shorter one = finer movements (suitable for divination over a board). Yes – amethyst is UV-sensitive, and prolonged sun gradually lightens its violet color. Store it in a drawer or a dark pouch and charge it under the full moon (not in long sun!). Brief morning sun (max 30 minutes once a month) is fine. Cleansing: briefly under running water, smudging with sage, or on a selenite plate (salt is not recommended). Charging: ideally full-moon light all night, or max 30 minutes of morning sun once a month. Never long sun – amethyst fades! The most common causes are: an unfocused mind, strong emotions, a poorly phrased question or a need for energetic cleansing. Try cleansing the pendulum with sage, calming your breathing, rephrasing the question more clearly (one question at a time!) and repeating the calibration of the movements. Yes, ideally – the pendulum is held over a divination board (pendulum board) and its movement points to the answer. Boards contain letters, numbers, YES/NO, days of the week or symbols. For advanced divination, we recommend our divination boards. If the pendulum survived the fall, give it a complete cleansing (sage, water) and charge and reprogram it again. If it is cracked or broken, esoteric tradition recommends taking leave of it respectfully (thanking it and returning it to nature) and getting a new one. Yes – advanced practitioners traditionally have several pendulums made of different stones for different types of questions or intentions. Amethyst for spiritual questions, rose quartz for relationships, tiger's eye for material questions, obsidian for protection.Which pendulum shape should I choose?+
