Magnesite

Magnesite is a magnesium carbonate, naturally white to grayish, with a hardness of 3.5 to 4.5 on the Mohs scale. It is porous and therefore takes dye easily. On the market you will often meet magnesite dyed blue or turquoise, which imitates turquoise. When buying, check whether the color is natural.
