Turquoise

Turquoise is a blue-green to sky-blue copper aluminum phosphate. It has a hardness of 5 to 6 on the Mohs scale and is porous, so it is often stabilized with resin or dyed. It is mined, for example, in Iran, China and the USA. It is one of the oldest stones used in jewelry.
