Sapphire
Sapphire is a variety of corundum, best known in blue, though yellow, pink or colorless sapphires exist too. Traces of iron and titanium cause the blue color. It has a hardness of 9 on the Mohs scale. It is one of the four classic precious stones and is mined in Sri Lanka, Myanmar and Madagascar.
