Garnet
Garnet is a group of silicate minerals with a hardness of 6.5 to 7.5 on the Mohs scale. Red garnet is the best known, but green and orange varieties exist too. In Bohemia there is a long tradition of Bohemian garnet (pyrope) jewelry; the stone was mined in the Bohemian Central Uplands.
