Essential Oils
Essential oils have a wide range of uses and are therefore very popular. They are suitable for meditation, relaxationand traditional healing , and they also have their place in esoterica. There are many kinds of oils on the market, from oils with extracts and scents of individual herbs to combinations aimed at a certain result (blends for individual chakras, meditation or even seduction).
Oils can be used in various ways – you can drip them into an aroma lamp, rub a few drops of diluted oil into your palms or put a drop on a lucky scarf, for example. It mainly depends on what you use the oil for. For relaxation, aroma lamps are suitable, for example; in esoterica there are more ways to use them.
But be careful with application to the skin or ingestion! Before applying to the skin, make sure the oil you have is intended for it, and never ingest them!
Ways to use essential oils:
- Aroma lamps – mix 3–5 drops of fragrance oil with water and let the lamp be heated by a candle. The water with oil will gradually evaporate and beautifully scent the whole room. However, make sure the water does not evaporate completely, as this could lead todamage to the lamp or even a fire.
- Massage – the same rules apply to massage and to rubbing oils into the skin. Always dilute the essential oil with a carrier oil in a ratio of 5–10 drops of essential oil to 5 ml of carrier oil , and with every new oil, test it on a small area on the inside of your arm at least 3 hours before wider application to check that it does not cause a negative reaction.
- In the sauna – add 3–5 drops of essential oil to the water in the sauna to create a pleasant atmosphere and let your skin absorb the natural substances of the oils from the moist hot air.
- In the bath – add 20 drops of oil to a warm (not hot – around 30 °C) bath and enjoy the pleasant scent for a maximum of 30 minutes , which will help you relax completely.
- Inhalation – you can also inhale the oils in steam after adding 5–10 drops to 100 ml of water at 60–70 °C.
