Pearl

Pearls are organic gems that form inside the shells of pearl-producing mollusks, both marine and freshwater. They consist mainly of calcium carbonate and nacre. They have a hardness of 2.5 to 4.5 on the Mohs scale and are sensitive to acids, perfumes and cosmetics. After wearing, it is best to wipe them with a soft cloth.
