Larimar

Larimar is a light blue variety of the mineral pectolite found only in the Dominican Republic. It has a hardness of 4.5 to 5 on the Mohs scale. Traces of copper give it its blue-white patterns. Because it occurs in only one place, it is one of the rarer jewelry stones.
