Jadeite

Jadeite is a rare mineral from the pyroxene group; together with nephrite it is commonly called jade. It has a hardness of 6.5 to 7 on the Mohs scale and is very tough. The finest material comes from Myanmar. It has long been used for jewelry and carvings.
