Aquamarine
Aquamarine is the blue to blue-green variety of beryl. Traces of iron give it its color. It has a hardness of 7.5 to 8 on the Mohs scale. The name comes from the Latin aqua marina, meaning seawater. It is mined mostly in Brazil and Nigeria and used mainly in jewelry.
